What a crazy year 2016 has become!
Here’s where we are. Earlier this year, we moved from VPS back to a dedicated server. Performance was key to that decision. Our new dedicated server has 8 core processors, runs on LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and uses the fastest solid state drives available for a server. It was more expensive, but all sites, across the board, saw at least a 30% performance increase. With our own server, we also have far more control over our operating environment, and can keep things like virus detection and so forth more current. So far, this move has been excellent. We did encounter, however, email issues with one client. For that client we moved him to a dedicated email service.
